It's been a while since I blogged, as I've been travelling extensively in 2013 with lots of amazing destination weddings to share soon! So first things first, Maria and Nick got married in Marrakech in May, with a little help from their very cute little son Sam!  I'd visited Marrakech once before, but not for a wedding and getting to spend time in the beautiful Riad Charai in the heart of the old city was incredible. It's such a contrast from the busy streets to be inside a classic Moroccan Riad and it's the perfect setting for an intimate wedding. I know Maria through the photography world alreday as she is a wedding photographer herself and I was very humbled when she asked me to capture her special day.   For some portraits we took the time in the evening to head over to the Jardin Majorelle, which is an incredible house owned by Yves Saint Laurent, full of amazing coloured walls and crazy plants - the perfect backdrop for Marrakech wedding photos. I had a lot of fun on this day as I hope you'll see and here are just a small collection of photos from this very special wedding...
This month, I got together with a group of friends for an amazing week of hanging out and sharing great information and photography technique... a kind of workshop where we all teach each other a little something. We laughed, learned, and loved every minute of our time together and everyone brought something fascinating to share.  Joe Appel drove in from Pittsburgh and kicked the show off on the first night in great style, and then in the morning talented Austin photographer Jenny De Marco filled us in on how to develop more business from networking, and Genevieve and James talked us through how they make shooting the day so easy for themselves and their clients by collecting the right information before the day and making recommendations to their clients.  Julie helped us all the following day with her guide to posing, complete with Disney cartoon examples ;) Here we all are!
