Shooting weddings in the Cotswolds is definitely me in my happy place. I don’t know if it’s the honey-coloured stone buildings, or gorgeous gardens on displays everywhere, but this part of rural England is just exquisite. Based close by, as a Cotswolds wedding photographer I have been fortunate to document many beautiful wedding days at an assortment of lovely venues in the area.
From Barnsley House near Bibury to Lords of the Manor in Upper Slaughter, there are smart hotels to suit any couple. Rustic barns such as The Great Tythe barn in Tetbury, to the quirky and grand Aynhoe Park not far from Chipping Norton, this region has it all.
Here are just a few favourite images from recent years, followed by a handful of shots from some highlight weddings, to help show you how I cover the day.
A Cotswolds Gem
One of my absolute favourite venues, (and a foodies paradise!), this hotel has it all. Wonderful hospitality, a great spa to start your weekend off with, and an incredible restaurant. The gardens have a mix of formal areas with rustic open spaces with bell tent style marquee. The are some lovely churches nearby too, to hold your wedding ceremony in. A Grand Country House
The Cotswolds also offers some wonderful grand houses. This wedding at Aynhoe Park had gorgeous rooms to get ready in, followed by an onsite church for convenience. As a Cotswolds wedding photographer the fun really starts with the lovely relaxed receptions. Guests sipping champagne and of course the gorgeous couple photos to take in the grounds. We had some amazing sunshine just at the right time on this wedding, so we made the most of it!
A Classic Cotswolds Barn
The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury is just a wonderful venue. The Cotswolds has so many gorgeous barns for weddings, but I particularly love the extra house onsite here. You can stay for the whole weekend and get ready in a really relaxed home from home setting.
