Charlie & James had the most beautiful wedding at the incredible Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey. The sun shone for this lovely couple, which let everyone enjoy a fabulous outdoor ceremony and al fresco wedding breakfast.

Charlie and her bridesmaids started the day in the fantastic Dowager Suite, a real treat of a room to get ready in. She looked so incredible in her custom Galia Lahav dress, and all the stunning accessories gifted from her lovely parents. Meanwhile James and his groomsmen enjoyed a sumptuous feast in the Garden House restaurant, before slipping into some very smart tuxedos and making they way onto the lawns to welcome all the guests.

Outdoor weddings at Beaverbrook

I absolutely love an outdoor wedding ceremony, and the lawns at Beaverbrook with their views over the Surrey countryside are the perfect setting. My good friend Helen was the celebrant for C&J’s lovely, informal ceremony. And their aisle of epic flowers was the perfect backdrop for Charlie’s dad to walk her up the aisle.

After the nuptials, we headed down to the terrace to welcome in the new Mr & Mrs, with some live jazz playing in the background. The hotel’s canapés were to die for, and everyone was so happy for C&J. During a reception my aim is to capture relaxed, unposed photos of as many guests as possible. It’s often something couples comment on after the wedding, that they get to see shots of all the guests, as the day can go by so quickly!

Beaverbrook has so many wonderful spots to take gorgeous wedding photos. I’m always striving for natural looking portraits, so walking though the gardens together stopping briefly here and there for a shot is the perfect way to achieve that. I really loved how the florist decorated the pavilion for this particular wedding, we just had to use it!

A special surprise!

Charlie’s dad has been in the aviation industry all his life. And with the Beaverbrook’s history with Spitfires, they organised a special flyby for the day. It was a total shock for the happy couple, something they’ll never forget I’m sure!

The chefs at Beaverbook are incredible, with a renowned Japanese restaurant the guests were in for a real treat. The planners at Fair Accompli put together a truly beautiful setting for everyone to enjoy. And the speeches were so funny, before the party really got started later on!
