Riad Charai wedding photographer

jardin marjorelle wedding photography

It’s been a while since I blogged, as I’ve been travelling a lot lately with lots of amazing destination weddings.  This was my first time working as a Riad Charai wedding photographer and it was an absolute blast! I seriously can’t wait to get back and shoot more in this city.

Maria and Nick got married in Marrakech, with a little help from their very cute little son Sam!  I’d visited Morocco before, but not for a wedding and getting to spend time in the beautiful Riad Charai in the heart of the Medina was incredible. It’s such a contrast from the busy streets to be inside a classic Moroccan Riad. They really are the perfect setting for adventurous but intimate weddings. I know Maria through the photography world already as she is a wedding photographer herself. So I was very humbled when she asked me to capture her special day.

For some portraits we took the time in the evening to head over to the Jardin Majorelle. It is an unbelievable house formerly owned by Yves Saint Laurent, a true gem or Marrakech.  It was full of amazing coloured walls and crazy plants – the perfect backdrop for Marrakech wedding photos.  I could shoot details all day long when working in Marrakech, and Riad Charai is no different.

From the first moments getting ready to the dance party, belly dancer and fire breathing this was an amazing wedding to capture. Being a Riad Charai wedding photographer is all about amazing light, great details, and capturing an atmosphere only Morocco can offer. I’ll be back!

Nick & Maria makes a very good pair. Mike, your idea was simply superb, wedding rings on the leaf greatly highlights the specialty of ring on wedding. Cute little boy on Maria’s hand was another highlight.
