As a regular Claridges wedding photographer, I love working in one of London’s most iconic hotels. Brittany and Mark live in the USA where they met, although Mark is English and Brittany is half-english too. So it was an easy decision to bring over their friends and family to celebrate in London, and the weekend couldn’t have been more fun to shoot. I’d not captured a Banqueting House wedding before, so I was really looking forward to capturing that amazing space.
We started with a drinks party the night before in the heart of St James Park, and then Brittany had a stunning suite at Claridges to get ready in, with her bridesmaids. The ceremony in the Drawing Room was decorated in absolutely beautiful flowers and candles. After a brief drinks reception everyone boarded some Routemaster buses for a tour of classic London landmarks. That was a really lovely touch especially with so many guests coming in from overseas. When everyone finally arrived at Banqueting House, (part of Whitehall Palace), they were in for a serious treat. The sheer size and spectacle of the venue can’t fail to impress and everyone’s jaw dropped. I mean just take a look at the pictures yourselves, further below.
Banqueting House Wedding
This was my first Banqueting House wedding, and what a setting for an evening reception. You can’t help but be wowed when you walk through the doors, but the huge space and ceiling artwork.
The night was filled with laughter and love, and finished by a sparkler exit and a horse-drawn carriage ride. What an incredible way to head back to your hotel on a warm summer’s evening in London. Perfection!
